Although I'm finding that reflex/response time are starting to become a bit of factor, for me.

I usually don't tell people I interact with in the game that I'm a woman. Mainly because it doesn't seem important. And I really don't care about the gender of the players behind my party members. All that matters to me is how rude/nice they are and how well they work in a team.

thatta boy! i kno girls that play just about every type of games...and wow are they ever talented sometimes and sometimes not..just like men

one thing i see in this thread r that a lot of males r still saying that females play but arent very good (in other words, competitive as well) but wat is so different about females then males which would make them instinctively hate games? there isnt a single thing and i kno plenty of guys who dont like games too

i respect females as much as i respect males...there is no difference becuz of their sex but i dont see the real point in this thread other then having other females come out and say they play games...and to have a few guys support them and a few to say females dont play games...whats the importance of this?

OH, and by the way, to prove that you can be anyone and do anything, I wanna look back in time, amout 60 years ago. WWII had the US, Britian, France and Russia pitted against Germany, Italy and Japan (In a nut shell). Russia was sneak attacked out of it's agreement with Germany and quickly mobolized. It put together an army and was one of the first countries to realize the true value in the sniper. Russia began training snipers and created an entire platoon of nothing but female snipers, who had higher kill marks than all the other snipers on the field. It was found the women could be more agil in their aim with a Nagent sniper rifle. It was recorded that one woman took out 500 soldiers in her campainge.

another useless thing to point out..did u notice that there is no difference in the strengths and weaknesses of males and females characters? reason is simple. females can b stronger then males and some males r stronger then females

True but the strength comes from raising a child not just having the ability to produce one and that can be done by male or female.

Wow has this topic go way off into its own little world...

But none the less...to steer it right on course again. Yes, there is a raise in the "Gamer Girls" population in many games not just video games. (And not the old "easy" game stations...like sega gensis or the old super ninetendo games).

Girls do play Xbox, Playstation (1 and 2), gameboys (advanced, sp, ds), Game cube, PSP and yes even the on-lines games like Guild Wars..( and the others WoW, etc.).

I happen to be one of those girls. I have played on every game station that I have just recently mentioned and I own most all of them ( with the exception the Gameboy DS and PSP,because I'm a college student and cant afford the new things...and plus I think my boyfriend would look down on me if I got a PSP..=P haha...just kidding...they look too fragile for me...and plus you have to rebuy the same games you liked for PS1 and 2 not to mention the DVDs...>> Can I repeat myself...college student = no money ).

Also I like to mention that I'm a Halo fan and have played with the boys on my college campus in Halo Partys...and I taught three girls how to play the game and they are also hooked.

Although, I understand that is rare to see a girl gamer. Being a girl myself, I don't see them too often either. I made some girl's into gamers...but I never found any...its very rare to find them...but they are out there.

And like mention before... Years ago on other games. Why would girls want to jump out of the blue and say "I'm a girl and proud to play games!" It's like saying, "I'm black! But I'm not into hiphop and rap! I'm actually a Punk!" Yeah you don't hear that as much (Don't ask about the analogy I just kinda pulled that one out of no where) but no one has to prove themself.

Plus why would any woman want the attention from guys who get surprised because they're judgemental and think women are girly and don't like games. o.o; I wouldn't want to be harassed for no reason.

Anyway like mentioned above and even years ago women do play it's not impossible. It's like saying men don't like shopping in malls.. Guys do shop, buying games, food and even then they need clothes too.. it's not impossible you just don't see it or think about it. (Bleh my anlogies are bad today..)

All I have to add at this point is that I wish my husband was more into games. I've tried to get him into them, and he played for a while to spend more time with me, but it's not his thing, and he hasn't played at all in a while.

I know a lot of girl gamers in gw.. its just those 12 year old boys.. who play this game.. and go up to any random girl.. and say this.. or.. find out they're a girl playing games... "OMG! A GIRL!!!" **walks up to the girl** "Hey hot momma you wanna go behind that tent over there *points* and.. get a little bussayy?? ;D" gosh... thats probably the reason why.. many girls dont reveal themselves in the game =/
